Our Mission
ICE242 exists to promote awareness of constitutional limits on government authority and the federal civil rights law found in 18 U.S.C. § 242.
We do not offer legal advice, and we do not claim that wearing a shirt changes legal outcomes. Our purpose is educational: to make constitutional boundaries more visible in public life.
When constitutional limits are visible — during protests, community events, or everyday interactions — they serve as reminders that authority operates within defined restraints.
Federal civil rights law sets a high standard for criminal accountability, including proof of willful misconduct. While prosecutions are rare and complex, the principle behind the law remains clear: public officials are not above constitutional limits.
Our goal is simple — increase civic understanding, encourage lawful conduct, and reinforce the idea that authority is legitimate only when exercised within constitutional boundaries. Knowledge alone does not prevent misconduct, but a society that understands its rights narrows confusion about what authority allows.
